December 8, 1993-

William was born seven weeks early at the Nashua Memorial Hospital and spent twelve days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. His grandmother, Patricia Ann Heydecker was present at the birth and was happy to see him born on her birthday, 6 minutes after she was born. Pat stated, "This is the best birthday present I ever had!" He came home on Christmas eve, 1993 to celebrate the holiday surrounded by his family. He suffered from Pyloric Stenosis (like his uncle Richard and his great uncle, Lawrence) at age two months. He thrived thereafter.

His christening on March 13, 1994, was attended by close friends and family. The service was held at Saint Mark's Episcopal Church in Foxborough, the same place where his mother went to Kindergarten and teen group. His uncle Harold Lang played Amazing Grace on the bagpipes as a gift to his young nephew. His godfathers are Richard Creagh Heydecker and Christian Robert Heydecker. His godmother is Elizabeth Ekstrom, his aunt. As Richard was absent from the proceedings, Harold Lang stood in his place. After attending day school since the age of five months, he now attends the kindergarten at St. Marks.

He's My Favorite Toy
I really feel lucky to have William in my life. He is such a source for unmitigated joy, random acts of kindness, unexpected hugs and kisses...when he comes to me and tells me, "I love you, Mommy," it makes everything right with my world. He is my best friend, my confidante, my son, and my mentor. I hope I do the same for him.
